Kerstin Porter is a writer, actor, comic, director, and producer from a small town where there are more cows than people. So it's very fitting that one of her first roles was a cow trying to save a vegan from starving in a UCSC play.

After graduating, she followed her passion to London where she worked as a stage hand for a play featuring Fawlty Towers' Prunella Scales. She learned a lot while backstage, but didn't perform on stage until moving to New York where Nicole Byer introduced her to sketch comedy and improv at UCB and The PIT. Kerstin became obsessed with comedy and created shows like Pet Prov, a sketch and improv show with real live pets (unfortunately there weren't any cows.) Even though Kerstin loved the comedy scene her real passion was in film, so she moved to Los Angeles.

Here in the City of Angles, Kerstin found some of her hidden talents. For the first time she did creature acting and stunt work while starring in the Crypt TV series, Miss Annity and The Beast Under The Bed. She also learned to produce when making her own web series. She recently finished her second web series Adult Buddy Finder she co-created with Kristen Lucas based on their challenges of making friends after college. Before that she created, wrote, and acted in Round Valley: A Small Town Conspiracy based on and filmed in her cow populated town.

Kerstin continues to explore the film industry by creating comedy sketches with the group SkeDJes, acting in a variety of things, writing pilots, producing photo shoots, commercials and indie films, and when she has free time telling jokes at Flappers. Learn more about Kerstin Porter in this Voyage LA article
